Here are a few pictures of Caleb and a few friends we found along the way. We saw a variety of critters. We were able to observe wild turkey, deer, prairie dogs, lizards, skinks, horny toads, catapillars, and lots of colorful birds. We all had a great time and look forward to future adventures. Thanks for sharing in our fun!

Our Webelos Campout

The first picture you see is the group of boys that we took to Kanopolis Lake for a very exciting weekend. There were journeys to be had and this was just the beginning. These four boys joined together to put up their tent. The dads were not allowed to touch the tent. Soooo...they had to do a lot of thinking. The dads could only verbalize instructions. WOW...what a sight. After some time of figuring out which way to face the door, we finally got the tents up. We finished our evening by putting up a flag pole to raise the American Flag and a good night snack. Lights out began at about 10pm; however, the boys had a different opinion of when the lights would really go out. They managed to keep those mouths going until about 2:30 in the morning. After they boys finally quited down, we had some friendly visiters that decided they needed our hambuger buns a little more than we did. We thought we had everything bunkered down pretty well, but these coons knew a thing or two about opening fastened containers. The next morning started out very early, the boys woke up the dads at 6am. WOW. Our breakfast was pretty good and a good start to another day of new adventures. With our group, it was like traveling with four individual Tom Sawyers and Huck Finns. We traveled to Rock City, Minneapolis KS. This was a boldering park. The second picture is Caleb trying to find a way down the side of one of the medium sized bolders. We had quite a day scaling these massive rocks. These sand stone rocks were left in Kansas during the time of glaciers. The third picture is of all the boys on one of the tallest rock. We had to scale the side of this. We have some future rock climbers on our hands! We ate lunch at Rock City and then headed to Mushroom State Park. This was very cool, but after seeing Rock City, this place was boring. The next few slides are some pictures taken at Mushroom State Park. I will be posting a few more pictures from the weekend and explaining some more of the things we did.
