The first picture is a little on the orange side. It isn't the best picture, but you can get the idea of what the walls look like.
These two pictures give a better picture of the coloring. We used a light tan coloring and then put a mocha glaze over the top of the finish to give it some texture. Eventually, we would like to give the cabinets an antiqued look by painting them white and then adding some glaze.
As you can see from these pictures, we had a very beautiful shade of a pinkish/mauve laminate and back splash. Wow, tasty.
Well to follow the Tuscan theme, we decided to go for some earthy tones. The first picture is a close up of the technique we used. We applied a strong bonding primer and then painted our top coat. Then we added color using a sponge.
This picture is of one of the corners in our kitchen. We began the back splash but decided to finish the counter tops before going any further on it. Now that the final coat of polyurethane has been applied to the counter tops, after it dries, we will be adding an additional layer of puddy to complete a stucco texture. We then will paint it the lightest highlight in the 3 colors chosen. We will then add a darker glaze to add some depth. Once the back splash is complete, we will post some pictures. Hope you enjoy!
As several of you know, I went to a few Cub Scout training campouts over the past few months, one of which was Wood Badge. At the training I met some great individuals. Over the 2-three day weekends, we all bonded quite a bit, so after this great experience we decided to bring our wives and children together for a little reunion barbarque. BRISKET!! YUM YUM!! Well after the party died down a little, a few of us kicked off the shoes, let our hair down and got wet. Actually the kids were wet pretty early on in the evening. Tonya tried to get the oldest kid playing in the water but didn't have any luck. Her and some friends tried several times to get me to keep running and running and running, until I caught on to their little scheme. I bet you were all thinking I was talking about Caleb, nope...t'was I.
Anyway, we all had a great time, Tonya and I have been blessed by gaining a few new friends from the experience.
Here are a few pictures that we took while spending the 4th of July with some friends. Not only did we celebrate the Fourth, but we also celebrated a birthday of a good friend.
The first picture is a collage of pictures I took with my phone. The wives got a huge kick out of watching me try to take pictures. Everytime I would try to take a few pictures in one area they would stop and then begin in another part of the sky, finally I just sat in one area and took away. That is when they started again.
We didn't shoot off many fireworks, but here are a few pictures of the kids playing with sparklers, that is about as adventurous as we get. 
After firing a few, we relaxed on the curb for a while and watched the neighbors very expensive displays. Then we went for a walk around the neighborhood and sat in the park for a while. We really enjoyed ourselves.
As many of you know, one of the many hobbies I enjoy is art. Here is my most recent piece. When we moved into this house, it just spoke Tuscany. Many artist say they can see a picture in the medium of their choice before anyone else can. Like the piece is already there, it just needs to be revealed. Well, since the day we first laid eyes on this house, this is was my vision for this wall. Future additions would be to add a faux finish either bricks or a stuco with cracks. The plant are also a new addition to the pillars. Slowly our house becomes our own. Thanks for sharing in our adventures!
