James competed against the young ones! He competed in the over 14 category. This meant he was competing against some dancers from our school that had been dancing for a few years. There were 23 dancers competing in this category. He did an amazing job and should be extremely proud of the medals he brought home!

Kaity and Competition!

Kaity did not come home with a medal to wear around her neck, but she did come home with some accomplishments of her own! First she was the youngest competitor in the competition. Second she was able to dance her dance. This is pretty big for her because even the week before she would do her own thing! (As is VERY typical with Kaity) When it was her turn to dance Mrs. Noreen sat at the side of the stage, as promised, and said the steps to her. She followed the steps said and made it through. Last of all she was able to be a pretty good sport, for a five year old, about her brother and sister coming home with medals.

Addy's Medals

This past weekend our family competed in our first Irish Dance competition. The competition was held just outside of Oklahoma City. We were all very nervous before the competition started but were able to settle down after the first dance. It was pretty nerve wracking to have to watch the kids. I am not sure if I was more nervous to dance myself or to watch them! They all did a wonderful job and we are two pretty proud parents! The competition started with level 1 solo dances and then awards were announced for that level. We were pretty shocked and excited to hear Addy's name called. She ended up winning 3 medals for her solo dances. In later posts I will post pictures and tell how all of us did.
